Dread of drudgery or efficiency at the deadline contributes to procrastination, but I think the existential fear is about lacking a purpose so you make sure you will have a purpose by always having something you should be doing even if you never do it.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13472686909226073213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2940375117370631601.post-23965122867601367942015-02-11T12:02:25.825-06:002015-02-11T12:02:25.825-06:00I never proctrastinate in order to have something ...I never proctrastinate in order to have something to do later, if that's what I mean. If I'm procrastinating, it is because I'm dreading what needs to be done because there's too much work involved (so a different kind of fear), or (at work) because I am afraid it will bore me. I work much more efficiently closer to the deadline, and "soft" deadlines do nothing for me. I have to have external motivation for some tasks.Literacy-chichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08925734773412633965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2940375117370631601.post-79060230690911801092015-02-11T08:16:25.989-06:002015-02-11T08:16:25.989-06:00Not for me, anyway. There are many more enjoyable ...Not for me, anyway. There are many more enjoyable things to do when I quit procrastinating the tasks I need to complete. My reason is usually rooted in sloth. (I have an entire breakfast of dishes waiting to be cleaned as I type!)

MeredithAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
